Backstreet Boys - Concord, CA 8/30/05Ok...so you really can chalk this up as totally off-topic and under the
funny headlines of 'it could only happen to Michelle...' ![]() Ok, so the concert is killing us - Nick is...whoa...he's just every rock star fantasy come to life for me and he's ooozing sex on the stage. I'm fighting loosing myself to daydreams so that I can watch him on stage live. ![]() ![]() Erin, being an AJ girl, is in much the same state. AJ, you see, is hurt and can barely walk, much less dance. He slipped on a glow stick someone threw on stage in Vegas and he's in a boot up to his knee with pulled tendons in his right foot. He's obviously in pain but still as gorgeous as ever and sounding SO good we discuss, briefly, the need to wear TWO pairs of underwear tomorrow to Marysville. Erin wants to go be his private nurse and each time he has to hobble down the stairs we go "awwwwwww" and want to dash past security and carry him. Hey - he's thin, we could SO do it. ;-) ![]() Nicks workin his mojo when <FWHAM!> all the lights go out - and I mean ALL the lights - the stage, the walkways, everything...just as we're getting clued in that its not part of the act (the guys laughing and joking around on stage when they had previously been in the middle of a song was a good clue and yes, we're slow - lets blame it on the smirnoff ice we had before the show)... all the emergency lighting kicks on. Ruh Roh George. Kevin comes out and announces (through a megaphone) not to go anywhere, they'll get it fixed and finish the show. We cheer. Yeah, ok, so we were doing that anyway, but its another reason to do it again. 5 min later its announced (through megaphone by Kevin) that it's a city wide brown out!!!! The entire town of Concord is dark! Oh special!! We cheer because, well, it's Kevin on megaphone. For the next 5 min or so Brian hangs out on our side of the stage and signs autographs. Nick goes to the other side of the stage and talks to fans. No idea where Howie is, just don't really care - and AJ has hobbled backstage to (hopefully) put that foot up. When they leave, we cheer (yeah, I know, predictable) and yell how much we love them. :-) 20min later Kevin comes back out with the guys and they get two megaphones, ask everyone to please quiet down (which that entire ampihtheater did) and they sing 'Safest Place to Hide' accepella through the megaphones and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. Erin nearly started to cry and I captured some of the audio on my phone. ::sigh:: ![]() We don't just cheer - we go freaking nuts...but then we watch the 5 of them huddle up and just from Nick and Kevins faces, know the show is over - they look PISSED. Not long after that, they announced the show had to be canceled - there was still no power, no word from PG&E (our electric company out here) on when it would come back and the Concord Pavillion has a curfew that acts can't play past 11pm. Damn Damn Damn So the killer part is that tomorrow, we have soundcheck passes and 3rd row seats (god help me - on the side where Nick did ALL his singing tonight - I'm a dead woman) and the annoucement went out that ticketholders tonight should come to the venue tomorrow and their tickets will be honored there! Talk about your recipe for disaster. So, Erin and I are headed down really early - we are in NO WAY jeopardizing our chances to see our men again from the 3rd row. They were FAR to hot from the 5th tonight. I'm attaching a few more of the pics from tonight for the BSB'ers in the house. So...tomorrow is the Rebel shirt and (fingers crossed) the entire concert.
