Dressing a Galaxy - Star Wars Costumes @ FIDM
On November 20, 2005 I joined some friends and fellow Star Wars fans to check
out the 'Dressing the Galaxy' costume exhibit on dislay at the Fashion Institute
of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. To see, up close, the treasures
created by Trisha Biggar was such a gift.
These are works of art that we see for mere minutes on screen, but no detail
in them as been overlooked in their creation. From Naboo symbols on the Queens
outfits, to tiny beeds sewn for effect but never seen - everything to help the
actor and their character brave, regal, or even fallen was stitched with respect
into the outfits on display.
What a honor it must have been to wear such stunning works of art...
